Public Health Advocacy

Public Health Advocacy Day in Olympia
Concerned about unhealthy products?  Wondering what the future of public health funding will be?  Believe that we need to do more for emergency preparedness?  These are the types of issues that WSPHA advocates about, as your single voice for forward-looking public health policy.  Here are three action steps you can take right now:
  • ADD YOUR PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS TO YOUR ONLINE PROFILE WITH WSPHA.  If you cannot receive advocacy alerts at work, consider adding your personal email and zip code to our database, so you can receive email alerts specific to your Congressional and legislative districts.
  • FAN US ON FACEBOOK.  Help build a viral network of Public Health Supporters.  (The good kind of virus.)  Visit our Facebook page.
  • PARTICIPATE IN WSPHA'S LEGISLATIVE AGENDA PROCESS.  Members of the Association can propose Policy Resolutions through our annual Resolutions process.  You can also suggest important legislative and Congressional agenda items (specific bills or legislation) via our online submission process throughout the year.
Public Health Advocacy is one of WSPHA's 2 core program areas, along with Improving Public Health Through Training & Development.

Watch for other opportunities, here!  Contact the Legislative Committee for more details.
