Legislature Acts on Public Health Topics - Call Today
The Legislature will also determine whether to take actions that can
have a direct impact on the public's health, such as increasing the tax
on tobacco and closing the tax loophole on candy and gum. Your voices
as supporters of public health will determine whether public health
wins.
Current Action: Contact your state legislator and express your support for public health during their final budget discussions in 2010.
Message: Public health professionals have worked diligently to support our public's needs during H1N1 and an economic recession that has driven more people to seek primary care services offered through your local health department. Please support an adequate and dedicated funding source for public health this year, so that we can keep the public in our community safe.
