Healthy People in Healthy Places: A New Path to Health
(A Call to Action for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Equity)

Washington State Department of Health
Health Status. How to Curb Chronic Disease. Swine flu. Downsizing. Healthcare Reform. A New Administration. An Aging Public Health Workforce. What do these issues have in common? They will all be on the menu at this year's Joint Conference on Health.
This year's conference will challenge participants with a "Call to Action for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Equity," and aims to educate participants with nationally recognized experts and six unique programming tracks, so that practitioners and policy makers can take specific steps towards reducing the causes of disparities in the chronic disease burden among our state's diverse population. While the conference will focus on chronic disease, there will be many other sessions addressing a wide variety of topics selected from nearly 100 abstracts, invited workshop sessions, and plenary sessions. We are proud to produce a high quality event that arms our public health partners with the most current science and best practices, and makes it possible for us to tackle the new threats and challenges to community health.
