Public Health Advocacy

What We Do

Our work today will result in a healthier Washington tomorrow.

Much goes into promoting health outside of the doctor’s office. A strong public health system encourages individuals to make healthier choices and overcome the barriers to achieving better personal health. Healthier individuals lead to healthier communities.

WSPHA serves the people and organizations doing the work to protect and promote the public’s health. We make sure they have the resources, skills, and knowledge necessary to meet the needs of the communities they serve. We focus our efforts on policy, advocacy and professional development.

Policy and Advocacy

We advocate for the stable funding of the public health system and for science-based policies that address health issues. Learn more about WSPHA’s policy and advocacy work.

Professional Development

We develop essential training and educational opportunities that increase the skills and knowledge of the people working in public health. Learn more about professional development for the public health workforce.
