Over the last 100 years, public health initiatives have contributed to significant increases in life expectancy and improvements in quality of life. There is still a great deal of work to be done.
To keep pace with changing community needs, the public health workforce must develop new skills and approaches. This is where we come in. We work with partners to assess workforce needs and make sure the individuals responsible for keeping you, your family, friends, and neighbors healthy have easy access to the training they need. Our work today will result in a healthier Washington tomorrow.
Here’s how we support the public health workforce:
- We organize the only statewide conference focused on public health. Join us in Wenatchee for our 23rd Annual Conference.
- We assess training needs and develop a comprehensive training platform, with partners from state agencies and universities.
- We host regular webinars to highlight issues critical to public health today, including health reform, leadership skills, social media, policy development, and workforce development.
