Recruits new board members to meet the identified skill-based needs of the Board of Directors (including fundraising, leadership, policy expertise) and ensures good board governance through training and strategic oversight.


Develops and promotes professional development and training opportunities for the public health workforce. Our work includes interfacing with the WSPHA Annual Conference Planning Committee to ensure that WSPHA strategic objectives are met and partnering with other organizations to establish a strong statewide training platform.


Recruits new members to ensure WSPHA represents the broad community of public health professionals and supporters in Washington, reviews work to ensure the most useful member benefits and coordinates the National Public Health Week and the WSPHA Annual Awards. It also works with other committees to coordinate communications to and opportunities for our members.


In conjunction with the Board of Directors, develops the agenda for the conference, solicits and reviews abstracts and conducts outreach to support marketing and promotion of conference to the public health community.
